Sorry for this useless post, but you should keep your windows open and shout " Squeel piggy piggy" with a manic grin on your face!. Honestly, I owned a Mercedes a while back that was doing the same thing, it drove me nuts, and I never fixed it,I feel for you, its so embarassing. Like I said, useless post.

The name of it is the Pitman Arm, it mounts up to the steering box on the 1998-1999 year Durango and has the greaseable joint. The long arm going sideways with the center point is the Control Arm.

Yes that grease zerk is a PITA to get to, I can definably contest to that! Problem is the joint is recessed and therefore I don't think you can get a grease gun on it using a 90 zerk. They do make a 45 zerk, but I found when I greased that zerk there was a place I could turn the wheels and get to it from the bottom using the plain old OEM zerk.

I was able to get my gun on this when the wheel was off. I put the flexible hose over the frame of through the wheel well and grabbed it under the frame and put it on the zerk. Not sure if it can be done with the wheel on or not. Maybe jack the frame to let the wheel drop some to open up the wheel well.

Careful! Looks like the original is a tapered (pipe) thread and the replacement is a standard (straight) thread. You may have a hard time getting it in without stripping / breaking off the fitting.
