It's easier to remove it.
Just remove the mounting bolts on the A/C compressor and fold it out of the way, do not disassemble the lines!!!!!
Remember to put in the new O ring into the output metal line of the heater core line where it goes into the pump.
Replace the T-stat,lower radiator hose, bypass hose while your there. And you should replace the top radiator hose but you can always do that, it's just easier to do it all now.
Use RTV gasket sealant (I like Permatex Ultra Copper) as well as the gaskets provided on the water pump, and only install new water pumps, not rebuilt ones.
Fill with 50/50 premixed coolant (green).

Well, I am attempting this now. As far as the heater core line, would that also be known as the water pump inlet tube? If so I have a new tube w/o-ring.
Unfortunately I could not find a tool at the shop to keep the water pump from rotating while I try to remove the fan bolt. That coolant/wiper resorvoir was a pain, but now I am stuck I cannnot figure out how to keep the pump from rotating while I try to loosen the fan bolt. I may have to wait till the wife gets home to run to the shop for some tool to keep the pump still.
Any other ideas?

Got the strap wrench...No Joy! The strap wrench wont grab the pulley. No matter how much I tighten it, the pulley still moves. I even tried washing the pulley with dish soap to get the grease off. I tried jamming screws into the pulley holes to jam the pulley, but there is not enough room between the fan and the pulley to get a decent bolt in there. I think I may have to drill the pulley and put a bar in it to hold it still.
