Default Hesitation / Missing

Im running a 2001 R/T. I started noticing some minor hesitation back in January so I replaced the plugs. It seemed to help for about two weeks. Next month I replaced the wires, rotor and cap. All that did was intensify the problem. Mechanic raped me and put in a new injector which did absolutley nothing at all to fix the problem. I just replaced the IAC sensor after that dumped out. I am noticing the problem more so going up incline and only around town, doesnt matter if the tank is full or half empty. I ran it an hour an half up the highway the other day and it ran fine. As soon as I got into town and started with the hills it started giving me problems again. Any suggestions? What else do you need to know, please excuse my incompetence

2001 R/T that means we are look at a 5.9l engine, 46re transmission, AWD t-case.

do you have any CEL codes? (is the light on, if yes what codes)
have you tried cleaning the throttle body?
have you checked for vacuume leaks?
why did the mechanic change one fuel injector??
on a similar note, have you tried fuel injector cleaner?
and what rpm range do you notice it at the worst (idle, cruise, hard accel) or just when climbing hills?

Yes, it has the 5.9 AWD transfer case. Transmission was replaced about 30k miles ago. I cleaned the throttle body when I replaced the wires, rotor and cap. I also cleaned the throttle body spacer that I threw on years ago. CEL is not on. Mechanic said the scanner said the injector was bad, sounded like a load of crap to me but I said go for it anyway. I have not tried any fuel injector cleaner, I will grab a bottle tomorrow and throw it in. It seems to do it right before 40 miles an hour, not really under heavy acceleration, although I notice that I end up really getting on it to get through the hesitation and definitely when going up hills. I was thinking fuel pump assembly???? I have checked around for vacuum leaks but havent seen anything loose and havent hooked up any kind of meters to really check vacuum.

ummm... his scanner wouldn't pick up anything like that unless there was a code being thrown...

+1 srch

i kinda doubt the fuel pump assembly, that would show up at higher rpms more so than high rpms getting you through it

Shot in the dark but... How about the ignition coil? You may not be getting a very strong spark. This could be troublesome with additional strain (i.e., driving uphill). Just a thought...

What exact parts did you use, if you used the wrong name brand parts that is your problem.

When was the last time you replaced the battery?

I used the parts from the local auto parts store. They are the same ones I used last time I did a tuneup and everything was fine so I didn't even give them a second thought. Not sure what the names were. I replaced the battery a couple weeks ago and replaced the AIC valve which fixed one of the problems. I replaced the ignition coil today and there was no difference in performance. Gonna drop some fuel injector cleaner in there tomorrow and if that doesnt work I guess Ill go back to square one and go with new plugs, wires, rotor and cap. Any suggestions on a manufacturer for those? I dont need to go nuts with high performance, I just need the damn thing to run right...

plugs need to be champion copper, any quality wires should work the favorites are mopar or msd 8.5mm or better rotor and cap should have brass contacts.
