I started the day at about 300 feet heading south out of Indio, CA, and progressed to the bottom of the hill at about 1000 feet. Then things get interesting...

It's 5 miles and 2000 feet of elevation through switchbacks... This was really fun, even with the trailer trying to keep up! my wife thought I was F'n Crazy. The D did great, pulled like a champ, didn't overheat and I was pulling away from traffic...

I love my D!

Side Note: I ended up on this road, because I came down with an intestinal virus the day before and while driving. I did not make my desired location the night before. The GPS still had my original destination programmed and re-calculated me onto this road. I was tired, still felt like hell and just followed my GPS like a lost puppy. I snapped out of it quick! It was awesome, great views, and is beautiful country!

 

I've driven roads like that, but I wouldn't do a few of those roads again......LOL
