I've bled brakes before, but on a non-ABS vehicle... I am replacing the front brake lines on the D and will have to bleed them out, are there any special things I need to know to do this?

 

as long as you dont get air in the abs module they bleed the same way as non-abs brakes, if you get air in the abs module the dealer needs to bleed them bc the drb tool is needed to cycle the abs to get the air out.

might make life easier for doing it alone, but is not necessary if you have a helper (wife, gf, young kid ect)

i got my dad to sit behind the wheel and press the brake pedal for me to bleed the brakes.

 

Nope... All alone here. No wife (anymore) kid is with her this week and probably going to grandma's house for a week or two after that. Getting other people to come help is like pulling teeth sometimes, so I think I'll sink the $35 and get it.

On the good side of not having a wife anymore, I can do whatever to my vehicles I want and not listen to her nag about it

 

Well, I 'bled' them with the MityVac (my opinion is that it sucks..and not in a good way)
the brakes are functional, but not great. I get to have my daughter tonight and part of tomorrow for Father's day, so I'll get her to help me the right way.
