I have a 98 D with a 5.9. Problem is I've had this truck for two years and next year I will have to make sure I pass emissions. Anyway I've noticed in the very back of the motor there are 2 what look like vacuum lines coming from the exhaust or the trans. One lines (the small one) goes to something on the back firewall right below the hood. The other one is bigger (maybe ½ inch) and is capped off right as it comes up and turns into black vacuum line.
I have noticed on the 4.7L that this line goes into the canister then to some pump or sensor both located by the battery (canister in front, pump or sensor last). Can anyone tell me if their 1998 D 5.9 has the same capped off 1/2 inch line or has someone taken off these two things. And will it pass emissions without it.[sm=boink3.gif]
