Thumbs down Hawk LTS brakes grinding already!

My Hawk LTS brake pads are already grinding at only 11,000mi (~5000mi was highway). What gives? Should I just replace them with the SD?

BTW: 0 towing, and 95% of the time its only me in the ride (empty back).

Thanks in advance!

i would start by checking the pads, if they are worn low then id agree that your calipers are sticking, if there is still plenty of pad check the mounting bolts for the calipers to see if they are stripped out, i have heard of the calipers riding against the rotors when not bolted on correctly which would explain your grinding sound.

also are they grinding all the time or only when you use the brakes? more info is better, we can ignore what we dont need, we cant analyze what we dont have.

Sorry, they're grinding only when I brake, and not all the time, but at least like 80% of the time. Thoughts?

i would definitely check to see if the caliper came loose as my first stop it could be something stupid simple like that, just make sure everything is nice and tight and that there is nothing touching the pads

(also check the pads for wear)

and i have to ask are you 100% sure its coming from the front of the truck? bc i have a squeak im chasing that i thought was just dirty rear brakes and i have since cleaned them and it now appears to be coming from the front.

EDIT: So I just got back from spending the last 4hrs running errands through downtown Boston and had a good time to evaluate my brakes. In today’s 80˚ weather it seems that the brakes would squeak when I applied them, and at the end, the squeak transitioned into a grind. This happened every time I broke today, except for when I did a hard brake from around 30mph. The hard brake would do quick squeak ,and then bite (no grind).

Yeah, I drove around today with all the windows down, and it's definitely the front driver's side.
