Default Please help with frozen caliper on 1999 5.2L Durango

well, today i noticed my truck seem a little underpowered and was pulling to the right, and when i stopped at a light i would hear the brake rubbing the rotor, my friend said its eather the caliper of the brake line..

so 1st how do i know if its the caliper or the brake line?
if i replace it, can i bleed the brake line by my self?

and this is only my 2nd car my first was an explorer and used 13mm and 8mm for everything with the brakes. what tools will i need for my durango?

and really, thanks a lot for the help

dont remember the sizes needed but you will either need a torx or an allen driver set for getting the calliper off... yes you can bleed it yourself... i would start by replacing the caliper... thats most likely what failed you... its a super easy change and takes a matter of like half an hour to do

it attackes with a 15mm bolt i believe... just use a socket wrench... its real easy... no specialized tools for replacing a caliper

I personally think replacing the brake lines are the first course of action.. depending on the wear of the brake pads you're gonna have to pull the calipers anyway so it might not be a bad idea to work on them too. Brake lines are easy unless you have too much rust and corrosion.. make sure to use a backup wrench..

i agree with SumAmerican, i would do both of them at once while i was in there on a truck that old. however the more common issue of the two listed is the brake lines just so you know.

I think the caliper guild pins are T-47.

i forgot about this, but if the pull and drag goes away after being parked for a while the solution is even more likely to be the hose.

lol this is what happened, i went to go to autozone but now the problem is gone. will it come rite back or can i just drive it for a little wile?

also, now my problem is, how can i tell what side had the problem (id rather just change the one with the problem as $ is kind of tight at the moment) it pulled to the right, does that mean it was the right side?

about how long does it hat to change a break line? quick and easy?

btw: thanks for everyones responces, really helping me out
