2000 Durango 4.7 TPS?
Hello who ever..Just read long thread that ended in names etc attempt start fresh I guess.. as above I'm running 4.7 Durango 150,000 miles with a potential TPS issue. I think:
Driving at any speed I watch Tac "float" 300 to 500 while pedal is pretty much stationary (I am holding speed) which at slow speeds has cuased sudded up and down shift surprises. On interstate/high way 65mph watching Tac go from 1800 to 2000 to even close to 3000 if its mood is right. When thru with the drive idol at say 1000 foot on brake put in park it will rev right up and hold.. I kick pedal ...RPM drops and I can sit there watching the TAC go up and then go down in a surge for lack of better term. Sound like any past? I'll more than likely get part and replace to start for the one thing at a time approach (plus its a cheap start LOL)

I am unsure of ow to reset computer unless the "hold key in on position for 30 to 60 seconds" some one posted did that but, I got home from work 30 min drive truck was bucking as I drove back roads and to a point all but slamming into gear on down shift. Left air element in place no need to remove as the sensor viss and harness easily removes. 2 screws as stated in other post #25 torx.
Sensor came with O ring and paper gasket I guess there is options. Mine was O ring. Sensor gets installed slightlyturned so that screws dont line up so you twist slightly as there will be tension on sensor now. Insert screws as above held key hook bat up turn key and wow idol at 600 (cant remember really ever seeing that in 2 years I've owned it). Out on road TAC never flinched no matter speed held thru high way or back road and from "in gear" to park practically no change in RPM.
Could be the final issue I needed to solve , all for 31 bucks and a #25 torx driver

resetting the computer is done by removing the negative battery cable and holding the key to start for 30 seconds
sounds like you solved the problem 600 is a pretty normal idle for these trucks, but you might want to clean out the tb (a can of tb cleaner is not expensive) mine idles at 500 on the line.
