When did the "missing, sputtering, and ticking" start?

sorry, haven't had much internet access while being away... the missing etc started about halfway through my trip... mechanic said something about a piston and a rod knocking, so I'm getting a used engine put in this week... this has been the most expensive and stressful vacation I've ever had.

Wow, that's is kinda strange for it to just start going without any type notification.

It had been ticking, but not knocking... oil pressure was good, no real missing etc. Anyway, the 'new' engine runs ok... burns some oil but I guess that is a risk of getting a used engine. I'm just happy they got it all put together in time for me to leave before my vacation time ran out at work!

So back to my original topic, it is still making a grinding sound, mainly slow speeds and reverse... I think I have narrowed it down to the back of the D... but not sure. Could it be my rear end, it has fluid in it...

Turned out to be the right front caliper... replaced it, and no more brakes dragging...
