Default 1998 durango fan speeds

My blower fan was only working on the 3 low speeds. I replaced the blower motor relay and it worked for a few days, then it blew out again. So I replaced the blower motor resistor and the relay and it worked for 2 weeks. Wife just came home and said the relay blew out again. So, again it only works on the 3 lower speeds. Does anybody have any ideas on what the heck is going on? Any help would be greatly appreciated!! (married men will know what I mean)

You should take a close look at the wires leading to the resistor. Sometimes when a resistor goes bad it will overheat and damage the connector or even melt some of the wires.

Look at the harness on the resistor for corrosion or burned connections. If you find that it is then you will need to go to a junk yard and get a new one and wire it in or get the replacement kit (much better than the OEM) from the dealer.
