Timing problem
Hello all, I have 99 Durango 5.2 4x4. I had the transmission rebuilt and I put it back in. The Durango ran fine before pulling the tranny. Now all sorts of problems have been wrong with it. at first i couldn't get fire or gas I replaced the crank sensor, then i got fire but gas seemed to be a problem fuel pump runs and there is gas pressure on the rail at 47 psi, I drop the gas tank thinking maybe bad gas or water might be in the tank it but it wasn't . I replaced the IAC, TPS, and the PCM, also a new battery. I borrowed an auto scanner it showed crankshaft sensor was bad i replaced crank sensor again. Then it pulled a P301 code is #1 misfiring so apparently the Durango has jumped timing. there is loss of power, backfiring, and spitting and sputtering when i press the gas. How do i fix or adjust the timing on the durango when you can't turn the distributer? Or does anyone have another suggestion that might cause the symptoms i am experiencing.

Well that is most likely your problem I hate to say!
Pull those POS plugs out of that motor and go buy you a set of regular cheap Champion Copper spark plugs and gap them at .040 and install. Those POS plugs do not work in that motor!!!!
The wires are **** as well. You should get some OEM wires, Mopar Performance, or 8.5mm MSD Red wires. Get ya a brass contact distributor cap and rotor from your local parts store. First things first though, replace those plugs and try it!
