Loss of acceleration
Alright, here's what I have:
1998 Dodge Durango SLT
5.2 litre engine
4x4
198,000 miles.
A few days ago I had to replace the coil wire ( it was laying against the exhaust and burnt through). This happened on the highway. The truck sputtered and died. Not knowing exactly what happened, I tried to restart the beast. After figuring out what was going on, I replaced the coil wire. Since then, the truck has no acceleration. The more gas I give it, the worse the acceleration gets. Along with this, it doesn't seem to want to shift properly. Yesterday while driving I had to let out of the accelerator in order for it to shift into 3rd and 4th gears. When I do try to accelerate, it is sluggish at best.
When I drive it now, there is what I would describe as a whine that sounds like ti is coming from the transmission. It doesn't make this noise when the truck is in park, only when it is moving.
The check engine light came on for a little while, along with the brake and ABS lights, they have since gone off, but the problem still remains.
Any help you guys can give would be greatly appreciated since I use my Durango for work and without it, I'm pretty much up a creek without a paddle.
Thanks!

Check your trans fluid, dodge transmissions are very sensitive to bad fluid. Also check this thread https://dodgeforum.com/forum/1st-gen...agnostics.html
