Default Engine removal

Hi im currently removing the engine out of a 98 durango slt 318. I got the hood bumper radiator and ac condensor out and all the wires and hoses diconnected and the engine mounts unbolted and exhaust. The only problem i have is what is an easy way to disconnect the engine from the tranny threw the top or bottom of the truck i tried lookin around but couldnt see really well. And once i have the engine out do i have to support the tranny up or can the tranny just stay there with no problem. Thank you for reading

Remove engine through the top end.

Brace the trans front before removal.

NICE!

Take some pictures if you would for the forum. You might want to install a oversized torque converter or rebuild the trans while you have it out.

Yes you can remove it, however if you do that you might as well do the rebuild while you have it out, besides it's cheap that way and you know what you got.

I've seen prices from about $200 on up.

Don't take them off, instead just disconnect the radiator and pull it out and lift the condensor out and set to the side on a table, that way you don't have to vacuum the system. If you have already vacuumed it then there is just to the left a connection that has a clasp over it. Pull the clasp off and pull them apart. When you put it back in you need a new O-ring and lube it slightly with some spit or Vaseline and lock it back down with the clasp. The compressor you can zip tie to the hood to get it out of the way.
