Default 2003 4.7 can't get the fuel rail back on

anyone else run into issues getting their fuel rails back on? I had to get a new head, and the side of the motor with the new head is giving me issues. it looks like the bracket hits the mount too soon, the injectors on that side just physically can't go far enough into the ports to seat because the bracket is hitting the mount. . .

Now that is a strange issue. I wonder if that head was off a newer model and you need the different length injectors. Be aware of installing the O-rings on the injectors.

+1 Sounds like maybe there are no O-rings on the injectors? Make sure that you use new O-rings, roll them onto the grooves on the injectors, and smear just a SMALL dab of grease on them to stop them form hanging up during insertion.

Also, make sure you got ALL of the old O-Rings first.

Is the new head from the same series motor? I'm not aware of a different height boss casting, but I suppose it's possible.

Thanks guys, I replaced the orings (the old ones were still on the injectors) and they went in smooth as silk.

Cool. Easy to miss those things, glad it all worked.
