Well you would have to change out the axles, not sure on the bearings interchanging, and you would have to change out the pinion. You could play with it, or drop it out and do a 2003 disk brake install instead, but even that has fabrication that is needed and I don't know if the lockers will fit in the 2003 but I think they will.

* Edit & UPDATE*

I originally said the user would have to change out the pinion, however this is not true. The user would have to just change out the yoke. So you would remove your old yoke and install it onto the 2003 rear axle. From what this thread states there is no difference in the splines, just difference in the U-joint clasps. https://dodgeforum.com/forum/1st-gen...axle-swap.html

I don't know, I think I may do either a full on locker or a detroit locker. I love the idea of having the axles locked.

I looked up on star parts, which is a mopar site. They offer a LSD part 5161549AA and that is a complete rear diff carrier. Meaning comes with the trac-lok already put together. The only repairs you would need to do is replace the two side bearing and put your old ring gear and tone ring on the new carrier. That part number is for a 9.25 diff. It doesn't show any detroit lockers. That maybe aftermarket.

Air lockers are cool but to expensive unless you are into hardcore wheelin' pretty much every weekend, IMO.
