Speaker question
Wanting to replace the factory door speakers in my 2002 durango but im confused as to the size of them.
Crutchfield is saying they are 6 3/4 however when i look at the 6 3/4 speakers im noticing they are just 6 1/2 but when looking at the 6 1/2 speakers the guide says they will fit a 02 durango with a bracket
So will 6 1/2 fit or will i have to modify?
wanting to install either Zeus ZXi63 or Polk DB651

I used these and did not need an extra bracket. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002C8AFEE
These are 2 ohms and a good choice if you keep the stock head unit.
I used some of my own screws to attach them to the stock bracket.

Im no audio tech by any means but from what I have been reading since wanting to change my setup, yes it would affect the sound.
I plan on swapping out my entire stock setup (head unit and speakers) for a aftermarket head unit, speakers, and amp
Just cant figure out why it is that according to crutchfield and other audio websites that some 6.5 speakers says will fit with my durango and other 6.5 wont.
Im guessing the actual size of the 6.5 speakers (mounting depth, etc) or maybe its cause some come with brackets and others dont??
I've not fooled with car stereo systems since I was a teenager so im way behind

I have read them and i have forgotten of there wisdom in those threads.. but i will read once again..
The only reason i ask is because i got a pioneer 6300-ub headunit and i got a pair of infinity 6032cf's in the rear.. the stereo is 4 to 8 ohms and the speakers are 2.. would that make them sound bad? i know what you said about audio expert i just an opinion.

In regards to the websites saying one thing and then another saying another thing well idk.. i installed some infinity on my rear and they fit right in.. i was able to use the same gray bracket that the stock use.. the problem was that i was not able to screw one of the screws because it was too short.. so right now they are only held by 2 instead of 3. the depth is 2/12 i think.. and the speaker size are 6.5..
Yea i have no idea.
I checked crutchfield and it says the infinity speakers you are using would not fit a 2002 durango and they fit in your 02 other than that 1 screw so go figure LOL
