Default Speedo not working

Have a 99 Durango and the speedo is not working. Is this a electrical isusse? thanks. By the way, awsome site.

Welcome, it sounds like the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) located on the rear diff.

You posted in the wrong section, but welcome. Move it to the 2nd gen durango section, if you don't know how just PM one of the section moderators and they will do it for you. Hope you get your problem figured out.

A 1999 is a 1st generation Durango, not 2nd. Welcome to the correct section.


Most likely the problem is the ABS (speed sensor) on the top of the rear differential. Here: https://dodgeforum.com/forum/1st-gen...ensor-diy.html

No Hydra the second person who posted right after me was inquiring about a 2005, guess I should have clarified that. The thread starter was in the right place.
