Default lift kits

ok so im just curious what everyone on here thinks about the lift kits available for our trucks.

tuff country has a 5.5 inch suspension lift for our rigs, there's also a 3inch pa lift and the 2inch ts lift. i wanna know what all you people think about them. good, bad, whatever. ive seen good feedback for the body and ts lift.

The tuff country I have heard is to weak it you tow or go off-road, kinda defeats the purpose of a lift kit eh'. Pro-comp and Rancho used to make 3in. kits but rancho's ate cv's I heard and no longer make it because of it, don't know what happened to the pro-comp kit I can't find it anywhere. The body lift with the t/s lift will be the strongest.

The drop bracket up front is what I've heard. Duranged should get in on this conversation he would be able to tell for sure.

I have the Tuff Country 5.5 lift along with a 3" body lift. I run 35" Mickey Thompsons on 20" rims for over two years now with no problems.

I tow a 22' center console boat and a 25' camper with no problems. I do not take it off road, but todays roads semm so bad, they could be considered offroad.

Finding a Tuff Country might be tough as they do not make them anymore. Gotta find who still has them in stock.

Look at the link in my sig for pics of mine.

The problem is the way the frame and chasis twist during off roading. Because of the way the chasis is built if you put it up in the air and do off roading the twist is too much and bends the frame. Frankly speaking, the more added torque from the lift acts like a cheater bar on a ratchet.

33's is about it for a TS and body lift. I went that route for about 3 years before I went with the Tuff Country lift.

I have no worries, as I said mine stays on the concrete. Living on the Gulf Coast though, it does see sand every now and then.

I got all my off roading passed me years ago as I have been building 4x4's since the early '80s. I cannot see tearing them up off roading anymore and spending all the money it takes to rebuild them. lol

Right now, 8 1/2" and 35's is big enough for me as it is a daily driver. All my other 4x4's had 40's and 44's back in the day when those were the big tires.

The next step for the D will be a SAS four link suspension and then a diesel in it. That is my 2 year goal as it will then be a toy. I am looking to buy a 3/4 ton Dodge diesel truck 4x4 as a daily driver and hauler late next year.
