Default 98 Durango Keyless Entry

I owned a 1998 Durango that was stolen earlier this year. I purchased another 98 last week. I'd like to know if I can program my existing remotes to work on the other Durango since the one I bought didn't come with any.

From what I understand of this as long as you have one currently working fob you can put the system into a program mode and program more fob's(remotes). It does require a currently WORKING fob to do this though....
If not you can try a locksmith shop but for the most part they don't succeed. The tool they commonly use doesn't get it done, call around and ask,you may find a shop that can do it for you. A dealership isn't that expensive, they all have the DRBIII scan tool required.I called around and got one close to me to do it for $40 then I programmed 2 more fob's that I scored from a salvage yard myself....This was on my 2000 Durango though, look in a FSM for 98 and see if the procedure is the same

That's easy to fix, just go get a remote start put in with keyless.

remote start with keyless would work, but i fyou go that route i would be willing to bet you a 6 pack you have electrical problems down the road that are related to the new system.

I have a astro start that was installed by the dealer that was in addition to the factory keyless, could you get the brains out of a D with factory keyless? that should work fine.
