Default 2000 4.7 conversion

Has anyone attempted to swap out this motor for the 5.2 or the 5.9. i figured the computer would be diffrent but how about wiring harness and exhaust. my motor just snapped a rod or something and the junk yards want 2000 for the 4.7..... Thanks

I can be done but in the end you will pay more than 2000. You pretty much have to remove everything from the donor and install.

+1 Duranged, everything is different including the transmission. You use a 4.7l out of a dakota or grand cherokee I do believe.

May just as well swap your 4.7 with the new modern 4.7 that makes over 300hp.

+1 kensai, the new 4.7 is the way to go 310 hp out of it.

as stated above to put a 5.2 or 5.9 into a truck that came with the 4.7 you will need:
new engine
new transmission
new wiring harness for the engine bay
new pcm
new mounts
and i believe some of the radiator hoses are different
