no a load test is more than just voltage, after doing the heater core and pulling the dash a tb should be an easy job, and yes resetting th epcm is disconnecting the battery and holding the key to on for like 30 seconds.

Okay I just replaced the wires, rotor, cap, tps and plugs. Same problem. When cold it starts to idle rough and when you try and drive it goes and then hesitates. After about 1 minute of driving it is fine.

Maybe it could be your pre cat O2 sensor not heating up properly or outputting a voltage that is fluctuating on the high side that is causing the engine to run just a little too lean when it’s cold.

Would this cause an error code? How can I test/fix this.

Well they can be tested, but it is very difficult. You are better off just going to the parts store and getting a new O2 sensor. I would get a DESNO or a NTK sensor, stay away from Bosch.

I haven't cleaned the IAC or changed the battery as was suggested previously. Do you think I should before I try the o2 sensor?

Help, I still haven't got this problem fixed. I took the throttle body off and I'm not sure what the IAC port is. There are two big ports and one little one. They all look clean.
A couple of new pieces of info., when it was below -5 celcius the problem did not occur, even when the engine is warm and I let it sit while I go into a store after I start it a couple of minutes later it runs rough and I am getting even worse gas mileage than normal. I am usually around 17-18 litres per 100km and now I am around 22.
Could it be the catalatic converter? If I removed the contents of the converter would it cause additional problems?
