You should have gone to the 18" (or shorter if you can) as the shorter is the louder because Magnaflow are true straight flow systems without and baffles
Try and figure out if you have a 3 chamber muffler and go to a 2 chamber also

Ok so I think i figured it out. I'm gonna go with a 13" flowmaster super 40 series muffler with the magnaflow piping still. Anyone knowhow big of a pipe i will need to weld onto the original magnaflow piping to make up for the 9" gap now since it will be 9" shorter.

9" plus plus overlap at the front pipe(2" min) plus overlap at the muffler inlet(3"min).
If I'm wrong someone will chime in and correct me.....but 14"-15" should give you good welding and clamping.

13" from a 22" = 7" of material + a few inches play. With that said I would get 10" of new pipe and cut off what you don't use.
