Default Magnaflow Catback help

Hey guys I have a 2002 Durango 4.7L. Bought a single exit Magnaflow Catback Exhaust for it a few months ago. People say after you wear it in for a few months it gets louder. Its gotten a little louder but I still want a fierce more tone to it, louder. Any suggestions on what I can do without buying a whole new set up?

Headers and a high flow cat would do the trick.

I wouldn't buy headers unless I was doing some serious engine mods. The oem catalytic converter flows fairly well, if you went with an after market cat it may get louder, but gutting the cat will make it really loud. Cats act as a muffler along with emissions purpose. The problem with gutting cats is 1 its illegal 2 then you have to wire in an o2 simulator so it will run right which isn't that hard.

I'de check which muffler came with your kit and see what you can buy to replace it alone, reuse the rest of it.....Youtube has a ton of sound/video clips of different exhaust combo's so you can get an idea of what they come out sounding like....not great sound clips but enough that you do get a good comparison.....

I agree wil laz45, I would get another muffler thats louder. You could probably sell the one you have to help offset the costs

Well if Magnaflow isn't loud enough for you, which they are not built for making an exhaust loud then go to a Flowmaster 40 and it will be screamin loud.

A friend of mine has dual borla's on his 06 charger hemi and they sound great. If you want it loud just go ahead and straight pipe it.
