Default Fan motor issues

Well i pulled the dash to change the heater core and A/C Evaporator (both were leaking), and to fix the blend door that was not working. With all the help on this site got everything pulled apart and replaced the parts. this is on a 1999 Durango with 5.9.

Now after getting the dash back in place the fan motor does not work. So frustrating!!! I took everything apart during the tear down and cleaned it up. I checked the connections from the blower motor to the control switch on the dash and everything looks to be connected right. Batteries were disconnected during the tear down so i do not imagine i blew a fuse or a relay but the blower does not work at all. no speed.

does anyone have the wiring diagram to the blower motor switch so i can test or is there something else i can try. any thoughts will be greatly appreciated.

I have read through the tech folders so if I am missing the answer there i apologize. This has been a much bigger project then i had thought.

thanks again
Bill

i would start by finding and checking the fan ground, was probably removed when you pulled the dash and is either missing or loose at this point.

there is a link to a folder with the 98 owners manual in the FAQ thread on this forum, it should have wiring diagrams that are close enough to get you through everything.

I checked all 3 grounds that I removed with the dash one each under the mounts of the dash and the one on the center column on the drivers side wheel well. Is there another one that I am missing.

I have looked through the diagrams and need to check the relays and the resistors, but i do not understand how those could be off since i did not have the batteries connected.

Can you get to the wiring from the outside so you can test for voltage? Could also be the resistor. Also check the fuse regardless, if it arched then it can still blow the fuse.
