Default power windows not working

98 durango. when i try to roll the windows up or down, the switches will stop working. its not just the master power switch on the driver's door, its all the switches. I notice that the lights on the window switches go off and on, like the power to the switches is cutting in and out. could this be a fuse issue since all switches will stop working? it doesn't seem like all the motors are failing. any advice?

It sounds like a bad connection that supplies power to all the switches, if it was the fuse they would just quick working once it blew. You could check the fuse for corrosion and go from there. Check the connector that plugs into the master switch in the door.

thanks for the help. i checked the fuse on the side of the dash, it looks fine. Could a bad master power window switch affect the rest of the window switches?

yes a bad master switch can and does affect the rest of the switches

i would say its a bad connection in the master switch if that is the one you are using when the problem shows up.

Agree. I had my motors fail on 3 windows already and it seems like that isnt your problem. Check the master swirch first and foremost to see if it isnt connected properly or if something is fried in there.

Pull your drivers door panel first and make sure the master switch is connected.

Mine stopped working a few weeks ago and the switch had just come unplugged. It was that simple.
