Im thinkin about using a different wiper fluid this winter. I experimented with the orang rain-x this year and it works really good but it leaves so much residue. When i first got my truck i used the blue Peak fluid and it would refreeze so im staying away from that during the winter. I have a gallon of the prestone de icer with dirt blocker...is that any good or what other options should i look for?

 

I pick up the purple power from menards, stuff is good down to -35 F and its a de icer and it doesn't refreeze on the windshield.

I don't really need it down here in the Desert Southwest, but when I was in Indianapolis, I loved the stuff! I really miss Menards!

 

When I worked there I would literally stock up on that stuff. I'd come home with about 10 jugs of the stuff.

 

i use w/e is on sale at the time, everything i have ever used freezes if you are moving when you use it, if you use it while stopped iv never had a problem.



if it was leaving residue behind on the windshield then it wasnt working really good, just saying.

 

Is the Purple Power at AutoZone the same as the stuff at menards? They have it in gal jugs.....straight up or thin it??

 

I don't see why it wouldn't be. The Menards stuff is made by splash but if it has a -35F freeze rating and is a de-icer then I would highly recommend getting it. I straight up pour it in and can fit almost a gallon of it in my reservoir.

 

Well I've tried a few different types and they have always froze. What large chain stores sell the "purple power from menards".

 

I've never had a problem with it freezing on my windshield.

 

I use the Rain-X orange stuff. I like it.
