Could be bad or low octane fuel, go get some octane booster and some Seafoam.

Man that sounds like some tappet noise.....Once in a great while, when I first got mine,I'de start it and notice the oil pressure was up on the high side and it would come with that same tappet noise....sounded like all of them going off,it's fricken scary but it wasn't all the time.I ran a mild detergent through my engine for a couple weeks and changed oil/filter...serviced the pcv AND the little breather vents on the back of the heads....now it's gone.....I ONLY had the noise whn the oil presuure read high also....confused me.
If you guys have any insight on this I'de like to walk through step by step myself. I think I just got lucky an it went away, don't think I repaired anything...
Are there any common causes of this?

I hear ya..scared the &*^%@$&^@% outs me when mine did it...You've done the plugs so that's off the table ...Have you tried the seafoam and octane booster?

Also, these 4.7's are particular about oil level and viscosity....make sure you're not over or underfilled and that you're using 5-30 in it...We'll see what the guys here advise an anything further, I'm sure they've dealt with this before...

Also,If you haven't yet, read through the DIY section, you might find a couple things to check while you're waiting for some advice....
