i have to ask, why does it look like you have a piece of rubber hose coming off of your oil drain plug? and is that a valve on the oil drain? if so could you share that information with us too? thanks.

its a quick drain valve, the rubber line if im correct is hooked to the drain side of the valve and is bent back to a blank connection to prevent the oil from going anywhere if the valve leaks. http://www.qwikvalve.com/F106N-14mm-1.5-w-nipple.html

Summit, SME-1010R is plain and SME-1010 has the Summit logo. The price was $130.00 for the pan and $4.99 for the magnetic drain plug. It's listed for the 904, but will fit the 44RE because the pans share the same shape. Just like the 727 shares the 46RE shape. The pan depth is 3 inches, which is needed due to the overdrive unit. anything less won't fit. I also installed a re-useable factory pan gasket for $11.44, Lubelocker makes one for $26.00. There are a few other companies that make them as well. For the 44RE it's the standard 3 inch depth and for the 904 it adds an extra 2 quarts of fluid. If it was the pan Pml offers which is 4 inches plus, then you may run into clearance problems with the exhaust crossover pipe. If you want a stock size aluminum pan with a drain plug, then this is you pan.

You are absolutely correct, I've had this valve on my Durango for 7 years without any problems. The hose is for draining, keeping it in place is better than having to re-attach it for oil changes.
