tire dilema

I think I have made up my mind but not completly. I aquired 2 sets of tires for the low low price of FREE. one is a set of 4 firestone 265/70/16's(I know everyone hates firestones, you dont need to remind me) all seasons, the other is a set of 4 Pirelli 210 snowsport 215/55/16's.
my durango has 3.55's with 235/75/15's stock. I bought these rims http://abbotsford.en.craigslist.ca/pts/2660804315.html which are a 16x8(yes for less then that price).
I know there both the wrong size, one small and one is big.
I dont think the Pirelli would for one do very good on that width of rim(correct me if im wrong) and for 2 might be kinda funny looking that low profile on the durango with its huge wheel openings(the stock tires looks silly in there). but there good snowies.
mildly conflicted

The firestones are plenty wide. The code 235/75r15 breaks down like this. 235 means that the tread is 235milimeters wide. The 75 means the side wall (measured from the rim to tread) is 75% the width of the tire, and r15 is a 15in rim. The difference between 70r16 & 75r16 on a tire that wide will make the overall diameter about 1in tall on the 75 than the 70. If the tire is wider than the difference would be slightly bigger since it is a percentage. That is why low pro's have a small tread to sidewall ratio, example 255/30r20. HTH
