I just won a new EVS II system and wiring kit for my Durango on ebay for $40, which sure as hell beats $200. Hopefully it will get here before the holiday closes down UPS, since I have no patience. Any tips on installing it Indy?

my system just got delivered today. I got the two part numbers (the system and wiring) that you said I needed. I went to start installing it, but when I got to the first step (connecting it to the ignition wires) the connector wasn't where it says it should be. I looked carefully and the instructions are for the facelift (01-03) trucks so the wires aren't all in the same places on our trucks. Do you have the instructions for our old fashioned rigs? I'd really appreciate the help.

thanks

UPDATE:
the wires are in different places in the 01-03 durangos, but the colors still match up with the 98-00 durangos. I just used a volt meter to confirm the levels at the different states described in the instructions and got everything hooked up and working.

In case anyone else ever runs into this problem here's and adaptation from the 01-03 instructions for 98-00:
(this is all specific to my 99 so some things could possibly be different, but 99% of things should be the same for other 98-00s)

the yellow dome wire connects to the yellow wire on the C3 connector on the back of the fuse block, not the ctm

the lock/unlock wires connect to the wires of the same color on the upper (white) ctm connector (test for
voltage at the specified states to be sure since there are a few wires that are very close in color)

the yellow/black park light wire connects to the yellow/black wire on the bottom (black) ctm connector (again, test
for voltage at the specified states to be sure since there are a few wires that are very close in color)

the ignition wires are under the steering column cover on the bottom of it, not under the dash. you'll see that
they are the thick wires going to the bottom of the ignition switch (black connector, 5 or 6 wires)

the rest is all the same as in the instructions

good luck to anyone else who ever installs this system, and Merry Christmas to everyone!

as usual there is the normal a$$ covering. I and/or dodgeforum take no responsibility for anything you may possibly f up in the process of following my intrusctions
