Default EVS II alarm for 99 Durango

I want to get an alarm for my Durango since there has been someone in my neighborhood trying to break into peoples cars recently. My Durango just has keyless entry and not the Anti-Theft alarm. I understand that there was an option/dealer option for a Mopar EVS II alarm. I have been digging around online but have come up with mulitple part numbers (for different mopar vehicles I'm guessing.) Does anyone know what the part number is for my 99? Also if anyone has any experience with this system I'd appreciate info.

Rant time:
I didn't come up with anything searching since you can't use words under 4 characters (ex. EVS), which I personally think is stupid considering all of the acronyms such as ABS, TPS, CKP.... that people probably are commonly searching for. If an admin could fix that it would be appreciated.

I think my 98 D has the factory anti theft system...I will have to go out and check tomarrow and see for sure. If you know where the system would be hidden I can pull a number off of it for you.
But if you want to get one, why not go aftermarket on one? I am sure it would be cheaper, and would work the same. I had a Viper system in my toyota and it was great. Even found a way to hook it to my locks(cause it was an 89 and didnt have power locks) so that when I unlocked the door with my key it turned off.
Just my opinion...

I'd prefer to use the Mopar EVS system because it is specifically designed to work with our trucks, and I would prefer to keep my oem key fob. I have also heard of people having all kinds of problems with aftermarket systems in dodges. As for the location of the module, from what little I have found online, it is somewhere under the dash on the drivers side

Thanks

i believe the factory alarm is integral to the CTM (im sure whitewidow or master tech will correct me if i am wrong)

and yes aftermarket alarms are very well known for causing many electrical problems (and this is not just a dodge thing, its all cars bc when you modify the factory wiring you are just inviting problems in)

yeah I think you're right about that shrp. From what little I've found online the EVS II system was a dealer add-on option. I don't want some cheesy aftermarket alarm that is going to give me problems, which is why I want to get one of the EVS II systems. I'm finding them online for jeeps and dakotas, but I want to make sure of what part numbers will be compatible.
Any help will be appreciated

technically its still an aftermarket alarm unless it was installed in the factory, i wouldnt do it myself, but then i dont live in an area where i have to worry about anything being stolen.

but it's still a mopar part that is designed specifically to work with our trucks and not some universal fit alarm. and it's when i'm parked at my dorm during the week that I worry about it. I think it would be nice to have some added security beyond the door locks. I hope someone on here has had some experience with these units and knows which one fits my 99 Durango. If not I guess I could just hide a kill switch under the dash.

Yo yo yo. Sorry I missed this the first time around. If a post gets up there in responses, and I haven't already chimed in early, I always assume it was answered already.

EVS II... been there, done that. Same thing I run. Love it!

I highly recommended as the best under $150 alarm upgrade you can buy for our vehicles. PLUS, you get to keep your existing key fobs to control the whole thing. PLUS PLUS it is a Mopar product so OEM equipment. Installed correctly and you will have ZERO issues.

Here is the main system:

You will want to add (REQUIRED) the 1999 Dakota Wiring harness.

From there, a little install and enjoy all the new features built into your existing system that you never knew you had.
