Default Cooling fan

Is there a way to remove the cooling fan without getting that special tool
the book say you need?

Brace the fan and hammer the nut. That is what I did. No special tool was ultimately required.

It didn't sound like it was a special tool. Just something to hold the fan from turning. Shouldn't be that bad I don't think.

Use a wooden wedge to hold the pulley if you have to, and do like he said...whack it once or twice with a hammer, and then use a big wrench (or channel locks, or whatever) and it'll come off pretty easy.

I thought I just saw something about removing the fan. I went and tried searching for it and couldn't find anything. Thanks for the help

no problem. That nut removes the clutch and fan. Once you get the fan and clutch off it is very easy to get the fan off the clutch, just 4 bolts
