Default Tires

Last time I got tires I got the Firestone Destination A/T's in 245/70/16. I liked the tires cause I got a great deal, just over $500 OTD with road hazzard! This time Im looking at $422 OTD for just 2 of them! So Im looking at the Definity Dakota A/T's at Pep Boys, I can get 2 of them for $330 OTD with Road Hazzard. Has anyone had any experience with the Dakota's? Good or Bad? I plan on getting them possibly next weekend unless you guys can point me to a better/cheaper tire thats good. I wanna stay with an A/T tire.

Also..... How bad would it affect the truck if I upgraded just the 2 new ones to 265/70/16 or 265/75/16? Any thoughts would be great!

Thanks!

if you change the diameter of the tires on only 2 wheels you won't be able to use 4wd, because it would seriously f' up your transfer case

yup on a 4x4 all 4 tires should be replace AT THE SAME TIME if you want to use the 4wd safely, (and with the same size of tire, and preferably brand and model of tire as well)

Walmart has a set of: Hankook DynaPro ATm Tire P245/70R16XL for only $127 each. Take a look at what they have: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/tires...r=16&x=43&y=11

Now I don't really like Walmart, but you do what ya gotta do.

My other 2 tires have a TON of tread on them. And I really cant spend the extra $$$ on the same brand of tire around Christmas time. So I need to either go with the Dakota's or the Hankooks. I have been told the Dakota's would be better cause their made by Cooper. What are y'alls thoughts?

my thoughts are if your current tires are brand new you might be able to get a way with just one axle being replaced if it is the same brand and size

this is because each brand of tires will be measured slightly differently and in some cases NOT so slightly differently

i also have to ask why you are replacing tires at all if they have plenty of tread left on them?

You should rotate them often so they can wear evenly and last you longer.
