the salvaged title wont affect the value by much. maybe if you try to sell it to a dealer but why in the hell would you wanna do that? if there is no residual dammage left over then i can see getting pretty damn near close to what a similar one with no rebuilt title would get. all depends how good you are at selling vehicles i guess.

if nothing else you're also refurbishing a nearly 10 year old truck and giving it all a once over. If I knew the person that was doing the work did everything probably (not saying you didn't, just hypothetically speaking) It would be even better value if you ask me

Two questions ...
How difficult was it to insure? And have you pulled a CARFAX on the VIN. I'd be interested to see it.

not a problem to insure. As long as you have all the proper documents with you at the time of trying to insure it, everything will go smoothly. The truck is getting 2 new front axles tomorrow. As for a carfax, nah. Not too interested. We know the history, the PO was an honestly lady. It wasn't even her who wrecked it, it was a friend who borrowed the truck for the night

As per the value of the truck, we asked what it was worth if written off, and they told us $8,6xx.xx(can't remember the exact last couple numbers but it was around 8600)

So just wanted to do kind of a final update. We've been driving the truck for pretty close to a year now. No issues! Truck runs, and drives like a dream. I'm actually pretty jealous of my buddy, but I do get to drive it frequently. He ended up keeping it, and gave it to the wife. Couldn't have asked for this to turn out any better for them!

go to the first page. I posted pics all throughout the build including the finished product. Nothing has changed in the way it looks from that pic
