Default 2001 Durango CTM replacement problem

I started having classic CTM problems on my '01 Durango -- locks opening and closing automatically, blinking headlights when wipers on, etc.

My old CTM was PN: 56045453AF

I got a new one from a salvage that was PN: 56045453AG

From what I've found on the internet, these are supposed to be compatible parts. I took out the old CTM, plugged in the new, and it immediately went into panic mode. I took the fuse for the horn out to spare my neighbors, but nothing I do seems to get it out of panic mode. Starting the car, closing the door, trying to program the keyless entry, it doesn't help.

Is this a common problem with a new CTM? Anyone know how to stop this from happening? One post said to try cutting the green/orange on PIN 14 on the central plug, but that didn't help (I've rewired it back in again).

Thanks

You need to get the new CTM flashed to your truck by the dealer. On thing you could try is to reset the alarm: https://dodgeforum.com/forum/1st-gen...going-off.html

+1 hydra, CTM needs to be programmed by the dealer

also yes the parts are compatible, the AA (w/e the two digit alpha code on the end happens to be) just indicates part manufacturer

The turning-the-lock thing didn't work, still in panic mode.

I thought the keyless thing had to be programmed by a dealer, but didn't know the CTM had to be, too. Guess I'll bring it in, then.

Thanks for the advice
