Default Fog lights

I've had a broken fog light for a while and I knocked the other one out while wheeling the other day so I mounded some 100 watt off road lights on my bumper and wired them to my fog light wiring. I love it since I didn't need to try and install another switch in my dash. The only thing I don't like is that the fog lights used to turn off when the high beams came on so now that means my off road lights do the same. Is there any way to remove whatever makes them shut off?

I believe the ctm controls that function and not a physical switch. I'm not sure if there is some easy way to jump something in the switch but I'm leaning towards no.

All you need is the jumper mod for an 98-99.

Essentially all you do is remove the cover over the underhood fuse panel, find the relay that controls the fog lights, install a small jumper wire, and wallah! problem solved, you have highbeams and fog lights!

I didn't know there was a way to do that. I think I might give that a try too. Guess you learn something new everyday.

wow thanks. i didnt think it would be that easy. this leads me to a new question. before i owner=d my d i had a 1994 k5 chevy blazer. with this there is a set of 4 lights in the front, 2 high 2 low. i bought a kit for it so that when you put the highs on the lows stayed on as well and ive thought about it for my d but couldnt find anything. could i do a numper for that to work as well?

no you will overheat the bulbs if you do that bc the D only has one bulb on each side for highs and lows.

I did that for YEARS when I had halogens. Pull the stalk half way back and enjoy both highs and lows at the same time

Did it on my Ram, my Neon R/T, and my Durango. Never had a problem.

But to answer your question, I don't think there is an easy way to do that like there is the fog light mod.

Throw some HID's in there if you want bright.

yea you didnt have a problem bc chances are you didnt hold the stalk back for long enough, its not going to happen immediately, its going to happen when the lights are both on for a while (idk about you but im not driving around with the stalk held back most of the time)

Half hour to an hour worth of driving. Did it every night on my trip to my girlfriends house. I'm sure those bulbs got as hot as they were going to get.
