5.9 300hp durango?
I have a 01 duango with the 5.9 360.. I am looking for more hp and have been thinking about the svt tuner... I want around 300+ at the crank... This is what I have been thinking Headers, bigger tb, porting the intake to match the tb, and the svt. Also will the svt help with gas milage? mine sucks gas like a beast... here is a link that got me thinking about what our motors our capable of... tlmk what you think thanks

All good stuff, but I think your bottle-neck will be at the valves; you’re going to need a cam with more lift and a little more duration (duration for higher rpm power less low end torque and you won’t pass emissions with too much) or at least new rockers to increase lift. And then you might as well get some injectors with a little more pph so you don’t get lean with the extra air.
I really dont wanna do a cam, and I wanted to use my stock intake and just port the **** out of it.. Would I be better off with the m1 even if I dont do the cam? I have about 1000 and some change to spare for this project.. If the (SCT not svt) tuner will get me close Id say Im on the right track.. Id like to keep it as cheap and reliable as possible. if there is such a thing thanks guys!!!
I don't think in any way you can pull 300+ out of the motor with a few simple modifications. You need to bore/stroke/P&P or something substantial as mentioned.

Well looks like im just going to get the sct, headers, tb, msd, and custom exhaust. I took the clutch fan off about a week ago and could tell a big difference. Its never gonna be a race turck. Its my towing, fish/hunting, mud, and hit the mall truck. I just wanna beat a few chevys and fords at the red light. Ill look into a cam, head pkg ect.. I just dont think thats gonna be possible or even worth the $$$. Id rather just go with the cheaper mods and a kennesaw bumper. Ill keep you guys updated thanks again
