Default What is this?

I know I am posting a lot these days. I just seem to be the type of person who sees something that seems off and I want to know what it is, and I want to fix it. I don't like my D having broken parts. It has been a slow 2 weeks at work, so I have gotten a lot of time to look over my D. If you guys could tell me what this is and maybe how hard it is to replace I would be forever in debt to you all.

I assume you are talking about the rotted out bumper there. It's Dorman Part number 905204

That is the rubber stop to keep the a-arm from contacting the frame when the suspension bottoms out. I've never replaced one but it looks like your front end is sagging a little, maybe its time to reset your ride height and get an alignment.

Good eye and idea. I'm going to give the D a once over. My philosophy (had to look that word up is the guys who say "If it "anit" broke don't fix it". That's the crowd that has their flashers on and looking for their AAA card.

yup thats the bump stop

simple to replace, jack the truck up so you can get the tire out of the way

pry the old one out (when i did mine it came out on its own)
and push the new one in (use some dish soap as lubricant, because it will wash away in the first rain unlike oil which could hang around for a while, and some rubber can be damaged by oil/petroleum products being in contact with them for too long)
