Default Replacing Water Pump

I need to relplace the water pump on my 2002 Durango 5.9 and I'll probably do it myself. There are some cheap ones for like $50 but I'm thinking about upgading. FlowKooler makes a high flow water pump for $150. I am wondering if anyone has used these and are they worth the extra $$$ or not. I live in the North East with mainly city driving. Thanks

I just replaced mine. I have a 5.2. I bought my pump at Autozone they had two. The cheap one only took a cetain type of antifreeze the higher price one took any type. Unless your really using that motor I don't see the point in a high flow pump.

Mrob I would also check your fan clutch.
I replaced my water pump about three years ago.
The wife tells me that her D is making a noise and I check it the fan clutch is a little loose and spins freely so I thank great I'll just replace the clutch but when I wiggle front to back I can see the water pump pulley move too. This weekend I'll be replacing both.

Ya I was leaking antifreeze bad so I checked the fan and it was fine and nothing is loose. Probably the seal around the shaft is bad and leaking so I'm going to replace the pump soon but haven't even come close to overheating so I'm in luck.

Whatever you choose, I only install NEW pumps, not rebuilds or re-manufactured.
