Default 3.5 amp IOD need help findin the gremlin!

I recently picked up a 2000 4.7 slt. Been very happy with it until about two weeks ago when it decided not to start in the morning after sitting all night.

I get a 3.35 amp draw ignition off

Trans relay trips when I reconnect battery

Starter / Ign fuse in pdc has a 3.3 amp draw

I disconnected the previously installed astrostart..... No change

Disconnecting alt. and starter..... No change

Im lost as to what is causing this drain. I can pull ANY fuse in the truck and still show the draw. New battery two months ago. Battery cables and connections all cleaned and inspected.

Any ideas on how to procede?

stick an ampmeter on the battery (probably the same way you got the 3.5 amp reading), let all the electronics settle down after reconnecting and start pulling fuses until the current drops, then you know which circuit to look at, go to the fsm and check wire diagrams.

oh, I thought he meant the starter wouldn't work. Well, as for finding whats causing the draw shrps right, you're just gonna have to pull fuses until you find the gremlin
