Default Body lift

Got my body lift in the mail today and am itching to get it on. I'd just like to know what I'm in for before I start it as far as time goes. I've done a decent amount of searching but nothing. Anybody have an estimate on how long it'll take to put the 3 inch body lift on a 98 Durango assuming I'm fully equpped with all the tools?

Get an extra hand or two and you should have it all done within a day with plenty time to spare. If you have the PA lift then the instructions are well layed out and simple as heck. If you dont have a welder, plan on having your floor shifter (x-case) short or out untill you get the extension welded in.

Go to the link in my sig for a small write up on the lift. I did it myself years ago at the Fire Station. The only help I had was to have one of the other firefighters lower the floor jack down once I set the blocks in place.

The lift is real easy. Take your time and do not get in a rush. If I remember right, the fan shroud is actually the hardest part. In other vehicles, one would lower the radiator 3 inches to bring it back in line with the fan.

On ours, the fan sits on part of the frame, so lowering it is not an option. You need to trim the bottom curve of it so the fan will not rub it. The stock shrouds are two piece, so that helps.

There is also as extensive write up on there on the 4x4 shifter mod with plenty of pics.

firepro, what did you use to mount the hot wire under the car? like what kind of brackets, and to protect the wiring... i was wanting to go through the firewall and run under the carpets but dont see no good enough space to cut a new hole... i know this is on the wrong topic but i was curious bout 3 in body lift as well as my spring project, WV is not a good place to have a kinda low ride with snow piles esp if u live on a hill lol
