Default 44re transmission

99 dodge durango 5.2 44re transmission. I will be replacing my governor pressure transducer and solenoid. Does anyone have any step by step instructions to do this procedure?
I will also be replacing the gear oil in my rear end. What is the best gear oil to use?
I replaced my heater core a few months ago and my cruise control has not worked sense. Any ideas on what the problem could be? I have checked all wiring and harnesses numerous times.

This is actually an easy job...
1. remove trans pan.
2. remove three 11mm bolts holding solenoid/sensor bracket
3.disconnect solenoid and sensor connector.
4. remove two torx bolts that hold solenoid/sensor bracket.
5.solenoid and bracket will remove and then sensor will pull out of housing..
6. solenoid is the one in the vertical position and sensor is horizontal.

Just use the same type gear oil that the factory recommends, Brands are not too important here, make sure if your rig is posi-trac or not, some posi units use a different oil...

Does the valve body have to be removed?

You should only use ATF+3, or ATF+4 in that transmission, Fully Synthetic or Conventional. NOTHING ELSE!

I would check the fuses for the cruise control concern and then if problem persists I would attach a scan tool at look at cruise control data.....If ABS light is on, that could knock out CC....

ABS light is not on. What kind of scan tool would you suggest?

need a DRBIII to read the ABS codes, unless you have a 3k laying around collecting dust i suggest having a big shop or dealer read the codes for you.

althought before doing that try changing the rear wheel speed sensor and the trans output speed sensor.

So I guess Royal Purple is not recommended?
