Default throttle body off a ram?!

I am a member off another forum and I was looking around on it and some 5.9 and 5.2 guys had a good mod done. I'm not gonna go into details with it yet cause I wanna try it on my durango before just to make sureits worth it. But my question is. Will a throttle body off a 94-01 dodge ram 5.9 work on my durango R/T?

im pretty sure the 5.9 tbs are the same, the only differences might be in the way cables are connected.

Sensors are in diff locations so not really plug and play compatible IIRC.

And with that said, what forum and what is the expected result gain?

its not the ram throttle body itself that gives the power. my buddy just had the extra tb sittin around...the mod is removing the silencers off the top of thd tb. i found it on ram forumz. seems a lot of the 5.2 and 5.9 liter guys saw some mpg gain and mid range torque. so i figured id do a write up on it. the reason i asked about the ram tb was because my buddy had it and i wanted to try this mod on an extra tb not my stocker

If you clear the airflow, you improve the airflow and earn beneficial results.

http://www.thefastman.com/ has been reworking stocker TBs for years with positive results. I run one of Dan's myself.

They are not different. In fact I used to think there was a 2mm bore difference in the TB's between the 5.9L and 5.2L, but I just proved that wrong, well at least this is the information I have.

I just looked in my 1999 Ram parts book and it lists the same TB for the 5.9L and 5.2L motor both Durango and Ram, (not the 8.0L and 3.9 L engines of course), as part number 53031733AA. So that means the 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, and 2003 Durango 5.9L Throttle Body's and 5.2L TB were the exact same whereas produced are the same as the Ram 5.9L and 5.2L. Now the sensors could be different, but here is what I can see without ripping into it, and they are mainly the same. This is between the 1999 model years Ram and Durango 5.9L and 5.2L engines.

The MAP might be different but I don't think so.

The 8.0L Ram even uses some of these senors.....LOL

So with this said, I think they are up in the night on the other site unless there is a specific Throttle Body part number they are using. But I don't see anything?

Any '96 up 5.2 or 5.9 TB will work on you '00. The linkage and all sensors are the same. The pre '96 TBs ('92-'95) are for EGR equipped engines and have a different vac setup, the sensors are different as is the linkage.

Removing the air horns on top of the TB will reduce some of the air turbulence above the bores but if you don't replace the stock airhat hold down assembly with a S-bolt setup you're just spinning you wheels and wasting your time.

All the V8 Tbs are represented as having 50mm bores but that is only at the bottom. Inside the bores above the blades is a 3mm step down the reduces the bore size to 47mm. Remove the air horns on top of the TB, roll and taper the top edges of the bores and remove the 3mm step down above the blades and then you'll feel some difference.
