There is slight valve tapping when I start it up and at idle. Runs fine except when I press on the gas harder. When I press down on the gas it makes a wohw wohw wohw wohw sound until I let off and accelerate slowly. I installed a new oil pump when I installed the timing chain. I'm thinking I might have put the chain on one link over than I was supposed to. IDK

 

There always have been a slight tap sound on the 5.2L and 5.9L motor.

If you are sure you placed the timing marks correctly then it could be the distributor is not Indexed correctly. http://www.dodgeforum.com/forum/1st-...er-please.html

If your not sure then you could be off.
