Wink Heat Trouble in a 1998 Durango with a 5.2l

I am having trouble with heat. It warms up and blows warm air then cold and we checked the lines we are losing fluid from some where not sure where. It's mostly wet on the drivers side. I was hoping someone could give me some ideas and help me out if you need any other info let me know. Thanks

No so I don't think it's a heater core

So youre losing coolant for sure? Did you check the hoses going to and coming from the heater core temp wise?

There are 2 hoses that go to the heater core. One for return and one for going to. The one for going to I believe runs around the drivers side. Take the hose off and bend the hose to check for the said leak. Its most likely this hose. Then after you replace said hose, do a radiator flush. Install one of those $4 kits from walmart, instructions are easy, and then flush it for a good while. You should be ready to roll.

K thanks for the help guys hoping this works out if that isn't it then I don't know what to do. Hopefully it's not a head gasket if it is then we will get to that later I guess.

Could also be the T-stat gasket that likes to leak on that 5.9L and 5.2L motor in 1998-1999.

The line coming from the water pump is the pressure line, and the one going to the top of the intake manifold is the return.

I don't see anything leaking besides on the driver side like by the steering box and back from that and on the hose on the right side of the radiator that goes to the heater core is what I'm guessing. So I need to get it figured out still where it is coming from.

Could be those things just have to pin point the leak and follow it to where it may be coming from.

Ya, may even just be the hose buried under the AC compressor. I know my 5.9L has this. Its the hose that covers the T-stat. I know when my water pump went out last summer, I had also ruptured that hose. Which is only like 3 inches long. Still handy to invest in that flush kit. I have one on every one of my vehicles.
