Default Rebuild, Buy Used or what ?

So I've had my Durango for about 3 years now and watch it sit for half the time.
About this time last year I started having major oil burning issues. (having to buy 5 quarts every two weeks or so). I had a compression test which turned out fine.
After replacing the oil pump and sensor, catalytic converter(which was clogged), plenum kit(Hughes kit), I was fine until last week when my catalytic converter clogged. Again. I'm right back where I started. I really like my D and it fits the family but now I'm at the cross roads of rebuilding or finding an used engine. So anyone have any recommendations before I throw more money in.

Well personally I have gone down both roads with different rigs. If you buy a used engine you dont know how well that one was taken care of and can have the same problems or even worse problems.
But if you rebuild it you know everything was done right and every things is new and ready to roll! Plus you can even put in better parts so that you can get better power and performance!
But that would is just me...

Thanks for the reply...I was thinking rebuild also. Last thing I want to do is go purchase another engine with the same problems.
