Default 99D Brakes light stay on weird?

OK it's a 99 D 5.2 with 4x4.
My dtr drives it to school 5.5 miles round trip each day. Today I went out to run an errand after she got home and noted the brake lites on x3.

No keys in, no other lights on. Started it. pulled out of garage and forward and back again. Back to park. Depressed E brake and released it. Even put my hand under the pedal and pulled up on the E brake.

Still have both side brake lights on and middle tail gate light on. Noted one bulb looks out in 3rd light.

Gotta pull the battery cable or might not start tomorrow. Have not driven it in the neighbor hood yet. Goin to do that as soon as I hit enter and see if rear drums heat up on me.

Thanks for any ideas U might come up with.

OK just drove 5 miles on side streets. D rolls forward from a stop when I take my foot off the brake pedal and the rear drums are only warm to touch a little. Seems to drive just fine but the brake lights remain on all the time.

+1

Replace the brake switch. It is on top of the brake linkage under the dash. It is a 1/4 turn to remove and then pull up and off.
