Default Low oil and condensation

Hey there. So today I went to check my oil and noticed it was low(1/4) on dipstick. When going to put oil in I noticed my cap was filled with slimmy sluge looking crap.Never seen this much before. The filler neck is also coated good.I cleaned and filled, ran for a bit and checked.it seemed a little better tho.Could low oil cause this or would it be head gaskek going?>Thanks

If it is on the dipstick/filler neck, that is not a good sign. Is it actually on the dipstick or just the filler neck? If it is not on the actual dipstick, then it is probably condensation.

It wasn't on the dipstick, just the filler neck and cap full! After thinking about it I think lack of oil and cold Canada weather, might cause worst signs I have seen of condensation build up ever.but not too shure...

as long as it was NOT on the dipstick it is just caused by condensation in the filler cap, and a lack of long trips, my guess is you use the truck for a lot of shorter trips which done let it warm up all the way (or just let it warm up all the way), if you do more long distance driving the engine will run hot long enough to boil it all out.

the 5.2/5.9 usually only get it when the PCV is bad, the 4.7 is the one which commonly gets this build up.
