02 brake caliper removal
So the brake calipers appear to need an alan wrench instead of a standard socket (&*&*#^ Dodge engineers). Problem is, I can't get enough leverage to bust em loose.....any have any thoughts? I am ok as far as pad left, I was just trying to install ceramic pads to reduce the dust.
Busted my finger up good and ened up putting it all back together cuz I can't get the flippin bolts loose.

Try to put a small bit of liquid wrench on them if you have to. I have a good big set of Alan Wrenchs, when I did mine and had to put some effort on them to get them lose. First turn the wheel so that the back of the calippers are closer to you than the front. Clean out the Alan Wrench holes with something small like a punch. Make sure you got the right size Alan Wrench and gently tap it into the hole on the bolt. It goes down inside pretty far. I think farther you can get it in the better.
Then if you need to put a small bar or use a box end wrench to put on the other side and use it for more leverage. Remember to push your pads out first before taking out the bolts and put new bigger pads in that are not worn out. It is easyer if you use a C-clamp to push the pistons open.

OK, so I went to Sears and bought the proper torx-45 socket and they came right out. The new ceramics are on and oh, what a difference, not dust and a nice, quiet, smooth stop...I recommend to all.
Now, if I can just get my finger to heal up. I probably should go get a shot since it was busted open with metal on metal, but I'll just wait for the lockjaw to set in.

Nice to hear you got her done. Maybe you need the jaw to lock, all you need is your hands to work. Anyway keep us posted on the brake dust issues, I'd like to see if your pads will work. What name of pads did you use?[sm=burnout.gif]
